Behold, I am making all things New - 17th day in Lent

God is giving us a promise today. And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Rev 21:5
He who is seated on the throne, the one who has created the heaven and the earth is making all things new. Isaiah 43:19 ‘Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.’ Do you believe it? We must have faith for the promise to be fulfilled in our lives.

Heb 11:6 ‘And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Mat 21:22 ‘And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.'

Example: The life of Abraham and Sarah: They believed what the Lord has promised in their lives. Abraham and Sarah were old and it is impossible in their life the promise to be fulfilled still by faith they received the promise and Abraham was called the Father of faith. Our God is faithful in fulfilling His promises.

Isaiah 66:22 'For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the Lord,so shall your offspring and your name remain.' The Lord is so sure of his promises even to our children and children’s children.

Isaiah 41:15 ‘Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff;'The Lord wants to use us in His ministry in a powerful way. He has promised that He will make us as a new and sharp vessel for the Master’s use. Are we willing to be used by our Savior who has done so much for us?

Examples: Gideon and Paul the apostle:
  • The Call of Gideon
Judges 6:11‘Now the angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites.
Judges 6:12 ‘And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor.”

The Lord used Gideon mightily when he surrendered and obeyed the Lord. He went with the strength he had and the Lord used him and gave victory from the Midianites.
  • The call of Paul
Acts 9:4-6 ‘And falling to the ground he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”  And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.  But rise and enter the city, and you will be   told what you are to do.”
Acts 9:10-11 ‘Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.”  And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying,’

The Lord knew all about Saul and called him to be a vessel to touch the lives of the gentiles. He changed Saul into Paul. When the Lord met him, he asked two questions. 1.”Who are you, Lord?’ 2. “What do you want me to do?” Paul wanted to know more about the Lord and he surrendered his life to Him. Then the Lord used him mightily for His ministry. How are we today? Let us completely surrender our lives to our loving Savior so that He can use us for his glory. Jesus has done so much for us, what are we doing for Him? Let us shine for Him.
Memory verse:
       Matthew 5:16
‘In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.'
