- Jesus' accomplishment of the Father's will
- Matthew 26:39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will".
- Isaiah 53:4,5 'Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions;he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.'
- Jesus bore the sufferings in order to redeem us from our sins.
- He has clothed us with the garment of salvation and the robe of righteousness.
- Let us hold on our salvation everyday. As the Lord says,"Let the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy."
- Colo 2:13-15 'And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.'
- Romans 16:20 ' The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.'
- Gal 3:13 ' Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”. He has taken all our curses hanging on the cross.
- Romans 6:22,23 'But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
3.Reminding us to boast only on the Cross
- Gal 6:14 'But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world'.
- Math 6:24 'Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.."
- Thus the Cross helps us to focus on Jesus and His way. Also the Cross prevents us from falling on the worldly lust.
- The Lord has given the Holy Spirit to guide us into the truth. His anointment will help us to lead others in His truth.
- Acts 19:11,12 ' And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.'
Prayer:
Dear Father,
We are sinners. Please forgive our sins.Help us not to repeat the same mistakes. We submit ourselves as a living sacrifice for you to fulfill the Lord's will. Let the Holy spirit lead us in your truth and guide us to draw others into your throne of Grace.Amen
Memory verse:
'He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.' I John 2:2
