Lost and found -5th day in Lent

Jesus Christ came into the world to save the lost.

Luke 19:10
“For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that was lost.”
Romans 3:23
‘…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,..’
The Bible says that we, the world have sinned and have lost the glory that He gave us. Jesus came into the World to seek each one in the whole world and to save them. What a love!! What a sacrifice!!

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
The Lord gave His only Son to give us life. When Jesus was on earth, He went around doing good, healing the sick, driving the evil spirit and preaching the gospel. Jesus went in search of the lady in Samaria at the heat of the day and made her and the whole village to know about His love. Jesus went to Bethesda in Jerusalem and met the man who was invalid for 38 years and healed him. He went around looking for individuals and multitudes to bring them to the Love of His Father. The Lord God created Adam and Eve and when they disobeyed His command, they lost the relationship with God. The Lord God went in search of them in the Garden of Eden asking Adam, “Where are you?”
Jesus is our good Shepherd. He gave His life for the sheep.

John 10:11 “ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
Jesus always looks for the sheep that is lost. His love is so great! It is greater than the love of a mother.
Isaiah 49:15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.” He loves us so much and longs for our love too.

In Luke 15 Jesus talks about three parables. 1. The Lost Sheep, 2. The Lost Coin, 3. The Lost Son

  • The Lost Sheep:
A shepherd had hundred sheep. When he lost one sheep, he would leave the ninety nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost till he finds it. He would have searched for the lost sheep everywhere, up and down the hills and valleys among the thorns. That is the love of the Father! After finding the sheep, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ There will be joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents. Isaiah 53:6 ‘All we like sheep that have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.’ He died on the cross for us all to redeem us from our sins, curses and diseases. Jesus is standing outside at the door of our hearts and knocking. Revelation3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come and eat with him, and he with me.”Let us renew our relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
  •  The Lost Coin:
A woman had ten silver coins. When she loses one coin, she would light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it. When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ She was not satisfied with the nine coins. She spends time and energy for the lost one. It is more precious to her.
‘With Christ you are a here, but without Christ you are a zero.’ The presence of God is so very important for us. Even though we have all the nine fruit of the Spirit and possess all the gifts of the Spirit, if we do not have the presence and love of God in us it will not glorify our Father. We have to feel for His presence all the time in our lives. The Lord has called us to be the light of the world. We have to shine for Him. Proverbs 6:23 ‘ For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light,…’ Let us spend more time with his word, the BIBLE. To grow and to shine we must have the presence and the word of the Lord in our hearts. How are we today?
Psalm 139:23
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there is any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!’

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank you so much for your everlasting love for each one of us. Help us to love you more and shine for you in our daily life. AMEN
