How did Jesus lose all his beauty? Why? He died on the cross for us. He died to give us eternal life. ‘I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.’ John 10:10
Jesus carried our sins:
- Jesus died horribly on the cross and shed his blood for the remission of our sins.
- By carrying the sins of the whole world, He lost His beauty. His physical, emotional and mental suffering was so…so much that affected his physical appearance.
- 'For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.' Ephes5:5 Thus 'He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.' 1Peter 2:24
Jesus carried our sicknesses (diseases):
- Jesus took up our infirmities and bore our diseases. In Isaiah 53:5 says, 'by His wounds we are healed'.
- Job was afflicted with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.'When his friends saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him.' Job 2:12 But the Lord restored the fortunes and healed him.
- 'Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.' Psal 27:10
- "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds," declares the LORD, "because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares." Jeremiah 30:17
Jesus carried our sorrows (mental and emotional):
- A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit. Pov 15:13
- All our sorrows and anxieties will expel through our face, speech and deeds. The king asked Nehemiah, “Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart.” Nehemiah 2:2
- 'He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth' Is 53:7 'Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin,he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.' Is 53:10
- 'Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.' Ps 55:22
Jesus crushed satan and its power under His feet:
- A man with an uncleaned spirit was not able to subdue by anyone. But when he saw Jesus , he ran and fell down before Him.Jesus came to that place from other side of the sea through the boat in order to deliver him. what a compassionate God we have!
- 'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.' John 10:10
- Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
- 'Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour' 1 Peter 5:8
- '..the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.' Heb 2:14,15
- 'And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpent with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.' Mark 16:17,18
Let us do His work claiming the victory through the blood and power of Jesus Christ.
Memory verse:
Philippians 2:10,11
'so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.'
பிலிப்பியர்
2:10,11
