All about the group:
Women’s Tele prayer has been formed as a fellowship of believers of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to spread the Word of God to the people who are longing for love. We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's love, which is greater than any other love in this world.
God laid a burden in the hearts of 4 young couples to start a fellowship in Tamil as they just moved into the US from Tamil Nadu, India. When we found out that conference calls over the phone is a good tool to meet as a group to share and pray, we started this Tele prayer in the year 2006 (June) to spread the love and happiness that Jesus has given to us through His salvation to others. After a few months, we decided to have it separate for men and women. Thus on every Thursday, we meet as a group of Tamil speaking women who love the Lord and we spend time together to share, hear and study from God's word and pray thus, encourage one another.
In the year 2010 from January, God gave us a burden to start the Fasting Prayer for an hour during day time (2:00- 3:00 PM EST) to uphold the families who belong to this group and also for various requests which has been mentioned in our web site. From August 2010 we started a special prayer time just to share and pray for the special and immediate needs of the people who attend the group that day. We enjoy our prayer time as a group to pray for others in one accord. The Lord is so good, answering our prayers and thus glorifying His name.
Three years back the Lord gave this verse from the Bible as the theme for our group. 'Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.' Galatians 6:2
This is the Prayer Group that upholds each other in Christ with prayer and will continue to do so with the help of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
